Our house is situated at the foot of the highest points of the Jura mountain range (1500m-1700m), in the Parc Naturel Régional du Jura, and at a 5 minutes' drive from the Réserve Naturelle de la Haute Chaîne du Jura.
At a 5 minutes' walk from the centre of Gex: shopping (local supermarket, many baker's, restaurants, ...), lively Saturday morning street market, tourist office (bike rent), post office, local cinema, view onto the Mont Blanc, charming old city streets.
Big supermarkets (Carrefour, Intermarché) at less than a 5 minutes' drive.
Swiss border: 10 km (easy to cross as Switzerland now part of Schengen countries), Geneva Lake (Lac Léman): 10 km, Geneva airport (Easyjet, ...) and Geneva centre: 15 km with a direct bus line (tpg, line F).
Divonne-les-bains 6 km: spa, casino, espace Charles Aznavour, cinema.
Ferney-Voltaire 10 km: castle where Voltaire spent the last 20 years of his life.

#107. Un super séjour dans la Pays de Gex
Nous avons passé un super séjour dans la maison d'Albrecht et Christelle et de leurs enfants, qui ont tout fait pour que des parisiens comme nous profitent à fon des joies de la neige et de la région.
Guide la maison très très complet, prêt du matériel de ski et des raquettes (pour maman qui ne fait pas de ski), toute la documentation sur les pistes et programme complet des stations pour la semaine, bonnes adresses (ah, les fromages de Michelin...), petites attentions à l'aller et au retour, des supers conseils de visites et sorties avec les enfants, et une communication hyper facile avant, pendant et après l'échange : tout était impeccable !
Un échange que nous recommandons sans hésiter
(et on y retournera parce que je n'ai pas eu le temps de découvrir le ski de fond au Vatay, et ça a l'air génial!).
