Somewhere new to explore in Summer 2017 please! Somewhere further afield between 23 July and 21 Aug 2017 for 2-3 weeks. We have 5 lovely chickens who don't need much attention apart from a quick water and food check every day.

  • Your home: Our home is a 5-bedroomed detached house, which we have recently completely renovated. On the very fringes of the city of Sheffield, our home is a 2 minute walk from open fields, leading to the Porter Valley with its river, woodland and bridleways. RWe have 5 bedrooms (1 double en-suite, 2 twin, 1 single and 1 with high-level child's bed plus futon below). Downstairs is a spacious hall and a large kitchen with island and a linked dining / living area. Separate lounge, study/playroom and downstairs WC. The dining/living room opens via extending bi-fold doors to an extensive deck with lovely views, leading to a lawned garden with patio area. Ideal for children to play and for entertaining. We have a range of toys and games for both indoors and outdoors, including a huge trampoline and football & badminton net, plus bikes and scooters you are welcome to use. No TVs or screens in any of the bedrooms. References available. We speak French.
  • Surrounding (details): Within 5 minutes you can walk to Forge Dam, with a playground, cafe and lake connecting via woodland paths in one direction towards the city through 2 lovely parks and in the other direction out to the gorgeous Peak District - great for walking, tree-climbing, hiking, cycling, bouldering, rock climbing or visiting picturesque Derbyshire villages, tea rooms and traditional pubs! Less than a 5 min walk down the road brings you to a set of local shops including a Coop mini supermarket, post office, hardware shop, butcher, off-licence, green grocer, florist, hairdressers, car repair garage, art shop and Indian take-away. A little further is the popular parish church and a delicious chocolate shop! Several huge supermarkets and petrol stations within 3km.
  • Activites, curiosities, sights...: Our home provides a perfect location for exploring city life as well as countryside pursuits. At 6km from the city centre, the house is on 2 bus routes into the city centre (20 mins). Sheffield offers two fabulous theatres (The Crucible and The Lyceum), several great free museums and galleries, shopping, an antiques quarter and lots of open green spaces - it is the greenest city in the UK!
